IAC Acoustics Provides Noise-Lock Doors & Windows for Community College of Philadelphia

A renovation project on the Community College of Philadelphia campus included the construction of a new music studio space. Metropolitan Acoustics, the acoustical consultant and VSBA Architects & Planners specified the IAC products for both a new live room and control room. J.A. Brown, IAC’s exclusive representative in Pennsylvania, answered the call and provided a delivered and installed scope.

Noise-Lock Acoustic Doors and Windows from IAC Acoustics were chosen due to their ability to consistently deliver high in-field noise reduction. Specifically, two STC-64 doors measuring 36” x 84” with narrow Side Lite Windows were paired with an STC-59 window measuring 92” x 44” to round out the project.

The doors arrived fully factory assembled and complete with a leaf, architectural split-frame, acoustic seals, cam-lift hinges and hardware. Their self-aligning magnetic seals will assure their longevity and high in-field performance, even after frequent use by members of the college community.

In a similar fashion, the Noise-Lock Acoustic Windows were custom-designed and precision-manufactured and installed on site. Members of the Metropolitan Acoustics team were extremely pleased with how the field installed products performed.
