OEM Noise Control

Original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) often need to deliver equipment that meets their customer’s or industry sound level standards. When this requires that the equipment be supplied with an acoustical treatment such as an integrated sound enclosure, IAC Acoustics can provide an engineered solution that will meet the performance requirement and OEM standards.

Our desire is to work with the client as a partner, developing a solution that will be cost competitive while allowing the OEM to offer the solution as a competitive product feature. Our engineers will work with the client to design a solution that incorporates all of the required operational features such as access, ventilation, parts flow, utility penetrations, etc., while meeting the expected sound attenuation.

In addition, we will design to meet the fit and finish requirements commensurate with the OEM expectations. Some applications can be satisfied by using our Noishield® modular acoustical panel system as the basis of design for a modular, scalable solution. When aesthetics is critical, or a more integrated appearance is required we can provide the solution in a more traditional cabinet style construction.

OEM Applications Include

  • Automotive transfer press lines
  • Thermal spraying systems
  • Paper converting machinery
  • Dynamometers
  • Stamping presses
  • Automation integration systems
  • Wire braiding equipment
  • Shredding equipment
  • Baling machines
  • Process lines
  • Gas compressors
  • Ultrasonic welding
  • Waterjet equipment
  • Printing presses

When working with OEM’s we are especially sensitive to critical lead time and delivery requirements, fit and finish issues and value engineering. We can produce prototypes, small run solutions or higher volume repetitive builds.

Noise-Lock® Doors at The Foundry in Cambridge, Massachusetts

One of The Foundry’s larger spaces, located directly adjacent to a city street, required access for large items and requested a 10’ W x 12’ H stage door while maintaining the target acoustic performance and necessary egress.
